HOW TO FIND YOUR ANIMAL HELPER: *Great working this one, simple, safe and very illuminating* Your animal totem is the animal that most accurately represents you. It may not be what you think, or seem that powerful or cool, but its yours and no matter the form, it is awesomely powerful. All of your first lessons will be contained in understanding it. By studying the animal, read about it, watch documentaries, look at pictures etc - reach information saturation - you will discover your true inner nature. With the working, take all the time you need. Sit in a comfortable chair, close your eyes and deeply breath in and out; 5 secs in through nose, 5 secs out through mouth. Relax and let go of your tension and worries, let your mind wander for a bit. Once you are relaxed, imagine yourself standing on an open plane that is surrounded by mist. It is not threatening mist however – it feels quite safe. Visualise yourself walking through the mist until you reach a vine that goes down into the earth (or a ladder). Climb down through a dark tunnel until you reach the ground. On the ground you are surrounded by comforting darkness. Call out with your mind for your animal totem spirit to appear before you. The first animal that you see, or appears to you is your own personal one. No matter what animal it is, even if it’s something you are repulsed by or afraid of, it has a special message and lessons for you, if you are at all unsure ask it what it has to teach you. When you are comfortable, let your spirit helper enter your body and feel your two energies entwine, feel the animals power course through your body. You can question your new friend during meditation or use it as a guide for astral travel. You can also “step” into your helpers body ans “shift” your perceptions to that of your animal. You will also be able to “talk” to your helper whenever you like – they contain much wisdom. Thank the universe, bow (shows respect) and leave back through the darkness, up the ladder, leave the meditation and come back to consciousness. A glass of water and some bickies or chips will help you come back to earth.
