HOW TO MAKE A GOOD MEAT-PIE THESE DAYS, AS MEAT-PIE HAS ALMOST BECOME A MUST-EAT, INSTEAD OF SPENDING A LOT OF MONEY VISITING MR. BIGGS, WHY NOT TRY THIS AT HOME AND SAVE SOME CASH. INGREDIENTS FOR THE PASTRY 500g flour 250g margarine pinch of salt 1 teaspoon baking powder (optional) 1/4 cup water( or a little. bit more but nt upto half cup) INGREDIENTS FOR THE FILLING Irish potatoes minced beef chopped carrot stock cube ground pepper little oil chopped onions salt thyme & ginger(optional) PROCEDURE boil and roughly mash d potatoes put d little oil( half cooking spoon) in s saucepan and heat add d onions and salt add d minced beef and stir till brown add all the spices and the carrot then add the potatoes stir very well and remove from heat. in a bowl, sieve flour and baking powder add the salt then rub in the margarine to get a crumby mixture add the water and gently mix into a smooth dough knead lightly for about 2mins roll out dough on a flat surface, using a rolling pin cut out sizeable circles with a meat-pie cutter scoop a sizeable portion of the filling into the circles( about a tablespoon full for the regular pie size) then close your dough circles to form the pie shape and design the edges with a fork.... once all the dough are ready, arrange neatly on a baking sheet and brush with egg pop the pie into a preheated oven and bake for about 30mins your delicious pie is ready for munching Nb: if you want the filling to be a bit moist, dissolve a tablespoon of flour in 2 tablespoon water and add to the filling while cooking before the potatoes. corned beef can b used in place of minced beef. NOTE: AFTER MAKING THE MEAT-PIE,YOU CAN ALSO PUT IT IN YOUR OLD MR. BIGGS BAG TO GIVE YOU THE FEELING THAT YOU ACTUALLY BOUGHT IT THERE. YOUR PARTNER/FAMILY WILL NOT EVEN KNOW
