OneSolidUmmah was a simple idea started by two volunteers who wanted to make a humanitarian difference in Syria. Hunger, disease, death, and fatality was increasing and help was decreasing. That is why their goal has been to help bring aid to the distressed both inside and outside of Syria by developing and overseeing non-profit programs that will help provide food, shelter, and education on a long term basis. Within one year OSU has established 4 orphan homes in Turkey close to the Syrian border to give a safe and loving place for over 250 Syrian orphans and widows. OSU provides not just a roof for these kids but a good life. Kids are given an apartment, clothes, a proper Islamic and academic education, Quran memorization, fun trips, gifts and more. Widows are given a monthly allowance added to all provisions such as food parcels, baby diapers and milk etc. OSU also does orphan sponsorships. Brother Abdullateef (founder of OSU) visits refugee camps in Turkey & Syria and finds the most deserving orphans. Sponsorship is US $100 per month for an orphan to cover all his/her expenses.
