HPD SCAM Alert. Recently people in the Kailua area are being contacted, by telephone, by someone posing as a HECO. They inform you that that there is a discrepancy in your electric bill and if you do not pay immediately they will send someone to your house to shut down the power. They advise you to get a CASH CARD for $500 and to call them back with the P.I.N. number and will then deplete the card. HECO does NOT do this. Please do not allow yourself to be scammed. If you get a call like this you should call 911 and report this CRIME and provide the police with their telephone number. Be Safe ...
