According to the statement, the northern side of the Mount Sinjar has been cleansed of ISIS gangs as part of the operation which is being carried out by forces affiliated to the HPG and YBŞ that have advanced up to the entrance of the Sinjar town centre at around 11 am yesterday. Fierce clashes erupted between HPG-YBŞ forces and the ISIS gangs at the entrance of Sinjar, with Kurdish forces having hit the ISIS positions and entered two neighborhoods of the town. The statement said that peshmerga forces have also reached the HPG-YBŞ forces and involved in the battle several hours after the eruption of clashes in this area. HPG-YBŞ and peshmerga forces are now waging a battle against the ISIS on a joint front, the statement said. The first neighborhood of the town was taken under full control yesterday afternoon as clashes continued in town centre. The Kurdish forces effectively hit the ISIS positions in attacks against the gang groups, also seizing large quantities of ammunition belonging to ISIS and bodies of 4 militants of theirs killed in the fighting. The statement reported that the ISIS groups carried out five attacks against the Kurdish forces in clashes that lasted till Sunday morning, adding that all these attacks have been repelled as result of joint resistance by Kurdistani forces who also thwarted a suicide attack the ISIS gangs attempted with a bomb-laden vehicle early this morning. Pointing out that the entrance of the Sinjar town, the first neighborhood and strategic hills are currently under the control of HPG-YBŞ forces, the statement said that fighting is now continuing on the front lines. 3 guerrillas and 3 peshmerga fighters have been wounded in the clashes as there are no reports of losses on the side of the Kurdish forces. The statement added that YPG forces have also provided a major contribution and support to the operation on demand of the HPG-YBŞ Command. Stressing that the operation will continue until the Sinjar town and villages are entirely cleansed of the ISIS gangs and liberated, the statement added; We declare that we are open to a joint action by all the forces of resistance, including the peshmerga, just like what has happened in practice in Sinjar town centre. It is obvious that all the forces of resistance should act with responsibility in this important process.
