HRH Princess Royal Visits Carers’ Resource, Shipley Her Royal Highness, The Princess Royal, President of Carers Trust, visited The Carers Resource, in Shipley, Bradford on Thursday 22nd January to see at first-hand the wide range of services on offer to carers and older people across the district. Andrew Cozens, Chairman, Carers Trust, presented The Carers Resource Director Anne Smyth OBE and the Chairman David Harbourne at the organisations office in Park View Court, St Pauls Road, Shipley. Accompanied by Mrs Smyth and Mr Harbourne, Her Royal Highness met carers, volunteers, staff, trustees, funders, supporters and stakeholders. Director Anne Smyth said: “I was able to present many staff, carers and volunteers to Her Royal Highness, The Princess Royal and they all enjoyed talking and sharing their experiences with her. “Caring can be an isolating and all-consuming experience, and is usually an unplanned role. Many carers can feel lonely, unappreciated, depressed and anxious.
