HSC u17 2-4 Ossett Albion u17 Today really was a game of 2 halves. In the first half we were all over them and hit the post a few times, but we were only 1-0 up at half time thanks to a well delivered free kick from Roysol Ahmed. Haseeb Qureshi gave a really soft penalty away straight after half time and it was down hill from there. Individual errors from different players and not enough conviction and cutting edge when you went forward, meant they went 4-1 up before Harry Rafiq got a consolation goal from a free kick. If anything, this game summed your season up, at times you were excellent, but at times when it gets tough, people start neglecting their positions and the communication disappears and it results in us conceding really poor goals, like we did today. To add to that, when we lose, the majority of the team are really sore losers and start looking for excuses rather then admitting they could have been better. I bollocked you after the match because its always the same reasons why we lose and the people I picked on deserved it and needed to hear it. I personally dont think the season was good enough and we ended up with 6 defeats in the league, whereas Id only accept 1 or 2 of them. Youve made improvements, but not enough. I do everything I can, but you need to ask yourselves if you do everything you can as well. On a positive note, you did win the league and it is your second in a row and I think it is a genuine reward for the good stuff youve done. On the field and off of it, you have got better and you deserved it compared to the other teams so you should all be pleased with yourselves for the effort youve put in. Only thing is, youve got me as a coach and I wont be satisfied until you are perfect! Either way enjoy the next few months off, the Wednesday night league will continue and I will let you know about presentation nights etc.
