HUMAN CAPITAL China uses her population of 1.3 billion as cheap labor for economical development. When reforms were introduced 30 years ago, one Chinese leader said this ‘whether a cat is black or white as long as it catches rats then it’s a good cat. The Chinese uses every kind of labor in order to overcome poverty. The Chinese are small in stature and yet they have moved their country to a level of being a second largest economy if not first with trillions of dollars in reserves. They have massive infrastructure and is counted as the first biggest exporter of finished products. There products are all over the world with a brand of made in china, fake, counterfeit or genuine all are reasonably cheap because of cheap labor cost. There labor cost has killed most of the industries in the west hence creating employment in their own yard. Other countries prefer produce their goods through china as it seems cheap. All raw materials are shipped to china for manufacturing purposes and exporters of these materials are imported as finished products with simple or small value addition to them. At the end of the day china this as un employment measure to her citizenry and improves on the gross domestic product, per capital income, inflation rate etc. Chinese are all over the world working on their foreign direct investment. They are busy using everyone of their own home and abroad to create nation wealth inward and through outward. Zambia has skilled and unskilled labor that can produce results. All the people we have can be used in various sectors of production. The problem is the leaders’ wants to see the average people tighten their belts and sacrifice whilst them enjoy luxurious life. Zambian can use every Jim and jack and the nation can never be the same. The Chinese leader then in 1978-79 in their reform program encouraged everyone to rise and work hard for the development of their impoverished nation. They rose up as men and women at work without much consideration of what they would go with home. Leaders and average people are never distinguished in china. They all clad themselves in work suits in order to deliver for their nation. Professionals, educated, rich people can not be noticed. They are able to work more hours, reporting to work in or on time. Their interest is not just their pockets but their nation is more at heart. Our population is not a problem; it can be used as human capital for wealth creation. When export this human capital to other countries as improve the welfare of our people as we also gain income through their work in Diaspora. Dual-citizenship should be encouraged, because we need the expertise of our own people as they get back home.
