HUMAN RIGHTS DAY: On this day in 1960 police opened fire on protestors gathering and marching against unjust pass laws that were not only racist and segregationist but were further being used to oppress, suppress and brutalize the majority of South Africa. We remember the 69 that lost their lives that day. We remember the injured and we remember the courageous. Yesterday we were consulted about yet another 46 people arrested, 26 female, one shot in the neck. The constitutional right to gather and to take collective action against actual injustice is being excluded by constitutionally unsound regulations to apply for permits to those whom have an interest in muting or shutting down the voices. It is in all of our interests to get that until all of us are free, none of us are free. It is in all of our interests to love our neighbour as ourselves. Aluta Continua
