HUMILITY... And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased;and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted. Matthew 23:12 True humility is something that others recognize,not something you proclaim yourself. Take Moses,for example. In the first third of his life,he was anything but humble.The adopted son of Pharaohs daughter,he had clout. He didnt have to tell people who he was.The way he walked and talked showed authority,and thats what got him into real trouble. For 40 years,he thought he was somebody,and in the next 40 years, God deprogrammed him.He came to acknowledge that he was really a nobody. Then after age 80-a period of life when most people start coasting-he learned what God could do with somebody like him. It was during that season of his life that Moses was recognized not only as a humble man,but as the most humble man on the face of the earth.Now the man Moses was very meek,above all the men which were upon the face of the earth. Numbers 12:3 Deprived of his status and power having nothing except the shepherds staff he used for generation of the sheep entrusted to him,Moses had truly become a nobody. God,however,as we read in the Bible today,used Moses to change the course of history and the future of His people. This is what God can do with one who has humbled himself.Peter urged as to wear humility as an invisible garment.Humble yourselves therefore in the mighty hand of God,that ye He may exalt you in due time. 1 Peter 5:6 Concentrate on serving others. Get your attention of yourself.Its amazing how you will never have to think of being humble,yet others will recognize that quality in you.Thats the way real humility works.
