•HUMP DAY JARED STORY• I just LOVE old boxes, suitcases and trunks! I also still like stuffed animals. I have had this bear, (that Mother gave me) sitting in this box in our bedroom, for a couple of years at least. Cute, huh? Well... (You have an advantage on me. I wish I could separate the pictures, one before and one after the story) I was getting ready one day when Jared walked into my bathroom and excitedly says Mom, Bears in funeral home! several times???????????? After all these years, my family prides itself on de-coding what Jared is trying to say, but I had NO CLUE what he was talking about... Until I finally walk into my bedroom where he has the bear laying down with its little arms folded over its chest (they wouldnt stay) and is once again, wigglishly, saying, Bears in the funeral home. Oh. My. Goodness! Thats EXACTLY what it looked like. I got so tickled, and then we both started laughing and could not stop. I laughed till I cried. Somehow, through his autism, which is severe, he KNOWS when hes funny and IT IS GREAT, because laughter is what has gotten us through this journey. And make no mistake, there is no disrespect going on here. He is wonderful at funerals and will very sincerely give his Jared hug to all the family and say, Im so sorry you lost your______. Hes just very observant, and I love getting to see the world through his eyes. Life is never boring. I will never see my little bear in my antique box the same again. Now I see a memory that makes me smile.
