HUNDREDS AVAIL FREE SERVICES IN BRGY. TISA! (CEBU CITY - Public Information Office) Hundreds of residents in Barangay Tisa, one of the eighty villages comprising this city has availed of the free services through the City Hall at Your Doorsteps program of Cebu City Mayor Michael L Rama held today November 28, 2014 Friday. Lola Carmen Angelio, 76 years old and one of those who benefited in the program for availing the free medical consultation because of her arthritis and cough has shared that, Mayor Rama is doing a good job because many benefited from his program especially the poor, like me who availed free check-up plus free medicines (Maayo man ang gibuhat ni Mayor Rama kay daghang natabangan sa iyang programa hilabina ang mga kabus sama nako nga nalibre ang check-up, naa pay libreng tambal). For Julian Samson, 62, who also availed medical consultation and blood sugar testing and knew of the activity from the information drive of barangay Tisa workers, he shared that, This is a laudable program of government, thank you to Mayor Rama and I hope this will be continued to help more people in different villages (Nindot kaayo ni nga programa sa gobiyerno salamat kang Mayor Rama, hinaot nga magpadayon ni aron mas daghan pang katawhang matabangan matag barangay). Association of Barangay Council president and Tisa village chief Phillip Zafra was also thankful to Mayor Rama and to the city hall employees for bringing their services for his constituents. Zafra who was also celebrating his 41st birthday during the activity further enthuses that its the second time that the City Hall at Your Doorsteps was held in their barangay. The activity kicked off with a Holy Mass which was officiated by Rev. Father Fiel Suico, a priest from San Lorenzo Ruiz Parish in the said village. He pointed out in his homily that no matter how successful you are always remember God and always seek His Kingdom first amidst our busy schedule everyday. Meanwhile, the City Hall at Your Doorsteps aims to bring the basic se\rvices from the Twenty-Two (22) Departments comprising the Cebu City Government closer to the people and to avail it for free. The free services included Medical and Dental Services by City Health; Birth, Marriage and Death certificates consultation by Civil Registrar; Legal Consultation by City Attorney; Real Property Consultation by City Assessor; Repair and Installation of Street Lights and Artesian Wells by Public Services; Cedula issuance by City Treasurer; Seedling distribution by City Agriculture; Pre-registration for Job Fair and Soap-maing demonstration by DMDP; Drainage and Road Maintenance by DEPW; andTraffic issues and Concerns consultation by CITOM. Also rendered services were blood typing, blood sugar testing, and internal medicine distribution by CCMC; Mass Feeding, parent effectiveness seminar by DSWS; Cutting and trimming of trees by Parks and Playgrounds; and Information dissemination by PIO; among several others. Furthermore, the public service program of the city has become institutionalized and already conducted every Friday.
