HURRY UP, GOD! Friends, happy Terrific Tuesday!!! I pray in the mighty name of Yeshua that God will “hurry up” and cause there to be a PERFORMANCE of all his promises in your life! I pray that he (God) will “hasten” his words and cause a divine exchange for all your sacrifices and labor of love such that a little one shall become a thousand! For brass you shall have gold, for iron silver, and for wood brass! I pray that God will “hurry up” and decorate your life with many bounties and lay thy stones with fair colors! You shall walk the red carpet of life! Your windows will be of agates! Your borders shall be of pleasant stones! Many shall see it and it shall be marvelous in the sight of all! Be blessed in the awesome name of Yeshua! Margaret Morenike Doherty-Aka HURRY UP, GOD! By Bishop Alfred Owens on Thursday, 07/17/14 (evening session) Psalm 70:1-5 MAKE HASTE, O GOD, TO DELIVER ME; MAKE HASTE TO HELP ME, O LORD. Let them be ashamed and confounded that seek after my soul: let them be turned backward, and put to confusion, that desire my hurt. Let them be turned back for a reward of their shame that say, Aha, aha. Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: and let such as love thy salvation say continually, Let God be magnified. But I am poor and needy: make haste unto me, O God: thou art my help and my deliverer; O LORD, make no tarrying. In the above illustrated scripture, David is frustrated at the fact that God had not come to his rescue. He (David) is at a mindset that God does not know what he is going through and that he (God) was running late! Have you ever needed God in a hurry and he didn’t show up when you wanted him to? A good example is Martha’s serious attitude with Jesus when he arrived “after” Lazarus’ funeral. She said to him “If you had been here my brother wouldn’t have died!” At times, you have to wonder “Is God always on time?????” Beloved, we must realize that God is sovereign and can do “what” he wants “when” he wants. Job said “all the days of my appointed time I will wait till my change comes”. God waits until that time when we can’t thank anyone but him. His ways are not our ways. We just have to “wait” on him. God allows you to go through some changes before he delivers you. You’ll never appreciate “up” until you’ve been “down”. Praise him for your ordered “stops” and not only for your ordered “steps”. God does not get upset with us praying to him saying “hurry up, God!” because he knows nobody likes tests and trials. Beloved, what do you do when God doesn’t “hurry up”? What do when you’ve prayed and stayed and it seems he hasn’t answered you? What do you do when it appears as though your prayers have not been answered? FOUR (4) PRINCIPLES OF WHAT TO DO 1. Don’t lose your faith. The devil wants you to think God does not care about you. Don’t let doubt take over your situation. Faith is “risky business”. “Risk” is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. It is stepping out on something believing you’ll end up on something. David didn’t lose his faith because he kept calling on God “Make haste, O God, to deliver me” When you have faith, you keep calling on God in prayer. You keep talking to God. He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him. Beloved, God is still working miracles through “PRAYERS”. 2. Don’t lose your focus. When the devil finds out that you will keep on praying he’ll try to get you looking at everything and at everybody but God. In the illustrated scripture above, David was focused on the enemy (Let them be ashamed and confounded that seek after my soul: let them be turned backward, and put to confusion, that desire my hurt. Let them be turned back for a reward of their shame that say, Aha, aha.) David, in another Psalm prayed “let them go down the pit that seek after my hurt” He focused on the enemy. But in one Psalm he prayed “I will lift up my eyes unto the hill from whence cometh my help, my help cometh from the Lord which made heaven and earth”. If you keep your focus and your eyes on God, the devil can come close but go no further. God is concerned about what you are looking at. Paul said “We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed, perplexed but not in despair”. Beloved, when people talk about you, they either owe you or don’t know you. Looking unto “Jesus” the author and the finisher of your faith. 3. Don’t lose your footing (where you stand). The devil will try to move you from where God has placed you. David said “my foot almost slipped”. Beloved, it took you too long to get to where you are for you to allow the enemy to move you from where God has placed you. Your attitude should be “I shall not be moved! I am like a tree planted by the rivers of water! I awill not be moved from where God placed me! I refuse to be manipulated or dominated! I will wait until my change comes!!!” When the devil wants to move you, he’ll let one person in the church (it could even be your department head by picking on you unnecessarily and finding faults, being partial, chastising you for things he/she overlooks in others) distract you causing you to say something like “I ain’t going to this church anymore!!!” Beloved, let people laugh at you and call you names but DO NOT LOSE YOUR FOCUS!!! There are times you get to a place where you really do not know what to do but you know what you ain’t gonna do. Your attitude should be “I shall not be moved because greater is he that is in me than he that is in the world!!!” and this is because it took you too long to get to where you are right now. Besides, there is someone worse off than you. Stay where God has placed you. Do not get out of line because if you do you’ll lose your spot and have to start all over again. It was God that got you in line to begin with so you must wait your turn. 4. Don’t lose your future. When you come to God he puts a promise in you (for the future). The whole time God gives you this promise he doesn’t show you that there is a “process”. But while you are working out your process, the devil tries to mess with your faith, focus, and footing so that you will not get to your future! The devil never lets you glance back to see how far you’ve come. If God brought you this far, HE CAN BRING YOU OUT!!! The devil wants to mess with your future. Many have gotten really close and blew it!!! Beloved, the devil knows you are very close and when you get this close you have the real devils to fight. This is because the devil knows you’re real close to facing your future! We “wrestle” not against flesh and blood but against principalities, powers, rulers of darkness, and spiritual wickedness in high places. But thanks be to God who “ALWAYS” causes us to triumph through Christ Jesus. Beloved, the future is “ALWAYS” bigger than the promise. Eye has not seen nor ear heard nor has it entered into the heart of man the things God has prepared for those who love him!!! God said “I know the thoughts I have concerning you, they are thoughts of good and not evil to bring you to an expected end” Perhaps your weakness is temptation, focus, footing, or faith. Maybe so much has happened that you are now doubting your future. God sent me to tell you that he’s done too much for you to allow the enemy to mess you up. He (God) who has begun a good work in you is faithful to perform it!!! The Lord gave the word; great is the company of those that published it (Psalm 68:11)
