HYDERABAD: Hyderabad has decided to ban Uber cabs a day after home minister Rajnath Singh advised all states to stop the operation of web-based taxi services. The Hyderabad road transport authority said that Uber has no license to operate in the city and they have asked the public to not use Uber cab services. Uber has not obtained permission from the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) to operate or facilitate taxi or cab service in the city. So, if such transport services are being provided or facilitated by Uber in city, they are illegal, he said. READ ALSO: Knee-jerk? Delhi govt bans Uber and all app-based cab services The decision comes a day after Uber operations were banned in the national capital after the arrest of one of its drivers for allegedly raping a 25-year-old woman passenger on December 6. The Delhi traffic police on Tuesday launched a statewide crackdown on all the radio cabs plying in the city after the governments order. Various cab services across the country, especially in the NCR region, are facing questions over their policy with the drivers.
