HYDRO JET BEAVERS SAVE THE BEST FOR LAST Port St Lucie- a mercy rule, also known years ago by the term slaughter rule, brings a game to an early end when one team has a very large and presumably insurmountable lead over the other team. Last night the Hydro Jet Beavers brought both playoff games to a early end after taking leads of 10 and 15 runs. In game #1 Hydro Jet trailed after the 1st inning 4-1 against Sons of Pitches/Siverbacks. No one would realize then that it would be the last time the Hydro Jet boys would ever trail again. Tim singled in the 2nd inning, then after two H-Jets made out, Mike D singled, Baby James followed with a rbi single, Eddie walked, a Bo single and a Ryan walk loaded the bases. Billy(Tank) the ripped a base clearing triple and team Hydro Jet never looked back. Later on, James dip can Maltese would launch two rockets over the left field fence, the second being a grand slam. The mercy rule was enforced after the 5th inning with Hydro Jet winning 18-8 . In game #2- Team Hydro Jet continued the offensive attack in the Championship game, scoring six runs in the first inning against the Bad Dreams Roofers. The H Jets scored early and often, the two thru six in the batting order went a combined 16 for 20. Bo and Kollin each had a 4 for 4 night. After putting up 8 runs in the 4th inning and taking a 21-6 lead, the Hydro Jet defense shut down the Bad Dream Roofers in the bottom half which brought into effect the 15 run mercy rule and Hydro Jet Chamionship victory.
