Habba Khatoon (Zoon) at an early age was married to a neighboring farmer. ZOON could not live the married life for long because of the cruel behavior of her in-laws; her new family could not understand the genius of her poetic being. Her in-laws, especially her mother- in-law and sister in- law, used to torture her every day and poisoned her blissful life. She lived her life in deep sorrow, distress and agony which later found a vent through her verses. My Parents, She abuses and is intolerable "Wariven seet wareh Tches no Chari kar muon Malineow Ho" I am not comfortable with my in-law Find a way out Oh! My parents (I am on pin-pricks for want of an eager response to my love, I am not happy with my in-laws who ill-treats me, make me suffer everyday, It is not possible for me to survive over here. Oh! My parents awake do read in to the indication I have dropped , bring me peace, get me out of this cruel relation, they burnt my blissful desires into ashes, Oh! My beloved parents do this favour to me. )
