Had a MRI, x-ray, new n-j tube, ultrasound yesterday. They said it - TopicsExpress

Had a MRI, x-ray, new n-j tube, ultrasound yesterday. They said it isnt an abscess, that it is a tumor. They did a CT of his lungs today. They said we might start chemo this weekend. The tumor is 3 cm. They r going 2 try the new aggressive chemo first. At least that is what they have indicated. We have not spoken with Jacobs primary oncologist. They did the CT on the lungs to be able to rule out any more nodules there. If he needs a liver transplant, they wont do it without the lungs being clear of nodules. Not really sure on all of the details yet. Not sure when we will see Dr. Geller. Jacob is feeling pretty great. He stood for 2 minutes, walked around 10 steps, sat up in bed by himself & swung his legs over the side to get out. He wheeled himself to PT, and all the way back. It was quite a ways. Its on a different floor, and the elevators are not too close to our unit. I hope he doesnt have to build back up after this next chemo, as well. I hope we will get more information on everything tomorrow. They should have the results of the ultrasound. His birthday is next Friday. Since we are on the transplant floor, everyone is under isolation. The only people he will be allowed to have at his party is us, and the nursing staff. He says he is going to have a nurse party. I dont know what decorations to put up for that. Anybody? :)
