Had a big day yesterday, BIG I tell ya! Headed off to my - TopicsExpress

Had a big day yesterday, BIG I tell ya! Headed off to my Wednesday night poker game, the usual spot upstairs of the day care center. Game starts at 7 PM and 10 hours later we were still at it! Only a hand full of players left around 5:30 in the morning and there was still plenty of pesos to be had. Flopped a straight, moved all in, about 8000 pesos, got called by a big fella with two pair. All told about 20,000 pesos, $1600, in the pot. Big Fella catches a four on the river to pull a full house and bust me! Clearly, it wasn’t my night, time to go home! Started walking down the street, still dark, a short walk to mi casa, 11 hours of poker and not a peso in my pocket. Shirt tail out, a two day growth, a light rain, cobble stone streets, shuffling along in the dark, alone with my thoughts, recounting my night and humming “Nobody Knows The Trouble I’ve Seen”. Felt like a character in an old Bogart movie. Just then it hit me! In 12 hours I was due at my “Coming out” party. I had better get home, get a little sleep and prepare for the big night! My friend and travel partner, the fella that I drove back and forth to Baton Rouge is a gay guy. He along with another gay friend who would be tonight’s chef were planning a dinner party for 12 and invited me along, cocktails would be served at 6:30. Took a little nap at 4 and sure as hell, slept until 6:30. Fortunately for me I had prepped my dinner attire before I dozed off. My favorite little sun dress and my size 12 green pumps. Try and find them sometime. Couldn’t find a purse to match so I decided to go with my Harley wallet. You know, the kind with the chain. Arrived at the house, a spectacular 15,000 sq ft estate high on a hill overlooking the city. I mean this place is like a palace! Greeted at the door by the butler and as I walk into the living room, every man’s nightmare, one of the other guests was wearing the same dress!! Fortunately for me I had some jeans and an old fishing tee shirt in the car. I quickly changed, at least now I had someplace other than my garter to hook the loose end of my wallet chain. Turns out most of the other guests were either Brits, Aussies or Canadian and all members of the host’s Bridge Club. That’s right, Bridge Club. Dinner was fantastic and as the night wore on it came out that I was a card player. Well, it didn’t take long and I was invited to join the club and had many offers for lessons and everyone was so excited and giddy that you are now talking to the newest member of the San Miguel Bridge Club. That’s right, I went from playing cards in a smoked filled back room with a bunch of Mexicans to playing cards with San Miguel’s High Society all in a matter of 24 hours! Tea and crumpets, what the hell is a crumpet anyway? Just another day in the life I reckon. I did manage to shoot a few covert phone shots. I’m heading back to the closet as soon as I burn this damn dress. And if any of my gay friends are offended by this post, get over it!
