Had a busy weekend... Saturday CPD, organized by the Ghana Association of Urologists.. very interesting topics handled... then Sunday medical outreach at a Church in Ashaiman..... educated the congregation of about 200 people and did some screening which was well patronized.. then today, a very busy day at the clinic..... not sure if it is the Monday or what but it was busy with some very interesting cases inbetween. ... with one of the clients, i had created my plan of management but then when i begun to explain things to him, he told me that he is from the North (i could tell from his accent and all ) but i was not aware he was living there and had actually come all the way down from there to here, because someone had made mention of us and so he was here to see if we could help him his medical complaints which have been bugging him for the past 1 year... after i hear that his plan is to return back to the north preferably today, my plan has to change... i do what i can as quickly as possible to confirm what i am suspecting on physical examination and his medical history and yes indeed, i diagnose him... Lung Tuberculosis which has now created water in the lower left lung... referred him back with a long note to a hospital in his area after educating him on how to protect others when coughing.. since it is a long way back in a public transport... this lets you know how vulnerable we all are to a communicable illness like TB... more education is needed.. ... dr.
