Had a call today from an old acquaintance with a certain book company whose books I used to sell by the score when I was a teenage bookseller. Amazing to hear a voice from way back then who was a rep in the company heading for a king management position who now years later has risen to Emperor status. Basically, he suggested that as part of my role at Belle Vue had been to oversee the penguin pool near the childrens zoo, hes a bit miffed at me for not submitting the manuscript of The Great Apes of Belle Vue to his firm for first refusal.
