Had a fantastic day yesterday up in Forres at the European Pipe Band Championships with the family (minus the London crowd). Congratulations to Buchan pipe band who won Grade 2 and to World Champions Field Marshall Montgomery, who won Grade 1. Crowd was huge. Good to see a lot of the local bands competing. But the highlight for me was listening to the Royal Guard of Oman Pipe Band playing one of their own tunes accompanied by 2 guys playing bongo drums. The sound was fantastic. I would advise anyone who hasnt been to a pipe band contest to go. Hoping to go to the Worlds in Glasgow next month.
