Had a lot going on in the last month, havent written much, but I got back into it: Okay, you can do this, just breathe. I glance up at the clock again. It’s 5:35. He should be home any minute. Reaching behind me, I make sure the apron strings are tied. The roast is done, along with everything else. Now, I’m just waiting on Jeremy. Suddenly, I hear the keys in the door. Alright, show time. The door opens and Jeremy walks in. “Hi honey,” he says, not looking up at me. I notice he has the mail in his hand. He sticks an envelope in his mouth and starts to sift through the rest of it. Really Jeremy? “How was your day?” I chime. I hear a muffled, “Good.” He continues to look at the mail. Oh my god, seriously. “I made dinner.” He finally looks up. Instantly, he drops all the mail, keys and the envelope on the floor. Perfect. “What?” I remark, trying desperately not to laugh. It looks like he’s going to say something and then stops. Finally, he chokes out. “Ummm….you…ummmmm.” “I believe when I moved in here, you asked if I would cook and clean in my underwear. I thought today would be the appropriate time for that.” I reach back and undo the apron strings and slowly take off the apron. I let it drop on the floor. I don’t think Jeremy’s jaw could be any lower. “Cat got your tongue?” I quip.
