Had a lot of fun in Panorama City, CA on Sunday at a listening party for Aviarys recently recorded songs. It was great to hear new material from these guys as they continue to chart a course for their return to the music world. The new material is a departure from their last album (which came out 35 years ago so thats not completely unexpected) as they streamline their sound for a new era. The music is more lean and muscular this time around and soaring over Toby Bowens crunching guitar and Doug Loves thundering bass are Brad Loves unmistakable vocals. They have done a great job in the studio and hopefully it wont be too long before they play them in a live setting. It was nice to catch up with everybody again. Most of the attendees were at the party Brad and Janine Love hosted at their home in Temecula a couple of years ago. At one point, I was drafted as a dumper for this ALS ice bucket challenge video that Brad, Doug and our host Rick participated in (Toby bought his way out with a generous donation). Enjoy.
