Already some of the scrumptious, colorful cucurbita species is appearing at the market, and soon there will be more. Some of what you will find at the Alamogordo Alameda Park Farmers Market (Saturdays at 9 AM & Wednesdays at 5 PM -- next to the Toy Train Depot) this week: APPLES (Gala, Braeburn, Golden Delicious, Granny Smith, Red Delicious); baby bok choy; baked goods; balloon twists (the kids love this!); bitter melons; black eyes peas; broccoli; cucumbers (Armenian, lemon, picklers, slicers); eggplant; garlic; green beans; herbs; ITALIAN PLUMS; jams & jellies; Japanese melons & other varieties; jewelry; jujubes; kale (curly & Tuscan); kohlrabi; lettuce; long beans; luffa; okra; PEARS; pecans; peppers, hot (long green chile, poblano, jalapeno, chile huerito); peppers, sweet (mini bell, green bell); pinatas; plants (aloe); POMEGRANATES; potatoes; RHUBARB; sprouts (alfalfa); summer squash (patty pan, zypher, zucchini, Mexican grey, yellow); tomatoes; walking onions; wild bird treats; winter squash (table queen, acorn, pumpkin, butternut, festival).
