Had a minor emergency today. My poor 17yr old Malamute, Lady decided to break out of the yard. Went looking all over for her. Got a call from the police [ahh modern tech, she didnt have her collar on and isnt chipped] telling me they had to drag her out of the lake. My heart stopped, then she said but shes OK She wasnt far but some how got into the lake and shes blind as a bat, she couldnt get out. A neighbor went and got her by canoe. Luckily another neighbor heard her whine! Now shes exhausted and crashed.
