Had a nice New Years Day hike with Judy on Maple Mountain. We headed up from Maple Bay at the parking lot on the end of Maple Mountain road. Here we took the blue trail and took the first turn on the pink trail to the summit. From the summit we continued back down the second half of the pink trail loop to meet back with the blue trail and then traverse back to the trailhead. Total time was 2 hrs 23 minutes at 7.5km with 488m elevation gain. I ride this mountain on the MTB trails but loved hiking this loop and will be doing many times again...although I think it will be to try and beat my personal best time each return.
