Had a perfect day! Rode the Metro into DC this morning. Let me off at the National Archives and the Navy Memorial. Less than a block walk and I was in the Newseum. Decided to go now as I am afraid it will be so crowded on the 22nd that I wouldnt be able to see the JFK exhibits. Was able to take pictures of some but not all of the exhibits. They do that in DC. It was a very moving experience . People of my age were obviously re-experiencing the shock of the day, but the younger people and those who did not speak English were also reacting to these movies, film clips, etc. Oswalds jacket and shirt were on display. Then I walked through the Naval Museum. Very interesting. Happened upon a live performance by a group from 14 to 19 at the Hard Rock, who performed some of the old standards and I was up dancing to Sledge Hammer and I didnt even like it when Peter Gabriel sang it back in the 80s. Could have been the 3 Bahama Mammas too. Beautiful fall day. Plan on going back on Friday to explore another area. The day flew!
