Had a pretty interesting situation arise at our game session last weekend that i thought i would share with everyone. Currently I am running a campaign in the Steampunk/fantasy world I created. One of the party members is playing an elven gun fighter. The elven gun fighter had lost his rifle and emptied his pistols to a fight with a troll before the earth collapsed dropping him into an old ruin catacomb. Among the others to fall into this catacomb were some experienced and dangerous assassins who had the gun fighter cornered. Only armed with a stiletto and his wits the elf managed to plunge the dagger into one of the assassins skull with a natural 20. Caught off guard by the brutal attack the other assassin could not respond quick enough to evade the heavy sack of gold flying at his face which was slung by the elven gun fighter after his first attack ( this too was a natural 20 strike ). The bag of gold slams into the assassins face breaking his nose and knocking him out briefly. Frantic the elven gun fighter climbed onto his body and slashed at his throat ending both of the deadly assassins. I also forgot to mention the character is only level 2 and has maybe 20 hit points left when the encounter started. It was definitely a suspenseful round of combat, we all thought it was his end.
