Had a pretty rough night. Threw up, minimal pain control with whatever this is going on with the spleen area (mono is in question) so theyve called in Dr. Orrellano (SJCo infectious control Dr to see me). They are getting the fluids off with the meds so thats a plus. NO CHF/NO COPD/NO EMPHYSEMA/NO PARALYSIS in the vocal cords! Yes pneumonia in BOTH lungs, yes some kind of inflammatory process, possibly mono! So why am I so blech today when I should be celebrating all the good/great news? Maybe since this is day 11 or 12, (losing track of time), Im needing to be home with all 7 of my kids/grandkids/2 fur babies to regain health! I do want to say this, Ive had some of the most amazing care ever but on the flip side of that, I have to say that Ive also had probably the worst/subservient care with a couple nurses & 1 Dr. Sad but absolutely true. Im probably not the easiest patient (obviously) but for a brand new (4 days fresh nurse) to come in my room & tell me this may just be the way I am the rest of my life, & her opinion based on her schooling is factual so I should Google what she is saying turned my hair green. So yes me being me TRIED to educate her about the importance of nurses listening to their patients, especially patients who ADVOCATE for themselves, patients who know their bodies, etc to no avail. She knew it all, I cried, oh & this is the same nurse who will give you pain meds when she wants to. Example/my 1st day of severe pain, my Dr ordered Dilaudid I.V.P. & Norco every 3 hours. It had been just over 4 hours & the pain hit. I buzzed & asked for it. She said shed be in 15 minutes. I writhed (I did) on my bed for 2 solid hours & called Mandi to help. She (nurse)finally came in & said Norco is not good for you that often! Yes we then had a yelling match, she was removed from my care, house super came up etc.... Okay I think Im done with my rant. Please pray for this horrific pain to go away & that Im in perfect health asap. Thank You Jesus for sending Pastor Glen Barnes yesterday because he lights up anybodys day & when he has on a Giants shirt to boot, that definitely puts a smile on your face. And the prayers he says speak to my heart!
