Had a pupil fail test at a light controlled crossroads...we are turning right and the car opposite turning left...driver just sitting there on green and probably don`t understand priorities...its clear and safe to proceed and after waiting around 10 seconds the pupil does so and has no affect on the driver when they follow behind us...when he failed the pupil ...I explained that he understands priorities and taught them if its clear and safe to proceed then do so....Examiner just said he should have waited...I was tempted to ask what would you do like they normally do us but thought he aint changing his mind so why possibly make it difficult for myself when I know his answer has to be I would have waited...I asked another examiner what should a pupil do in that situation and she said what would you do...I said go if its safe and make progress... she said well thats what you should do...sorry to go on...about 3 years later while driving on my own I noticed a light controlled crossroads single carriageway holds the the cars on red while I make a right turn and only found this out by approaching from the other side another day and its a green light not an arrow green...thing is you would never know this while turning right and would have to base the decision on proceeding when safe just like the other crossroads...I approached another examiner recently and all I got was a nice smile and a shrug of the shoulders...I still teach the same thing but this recent crossroads I came across reminded me of the scenario and because I joined this the other day I can left off steam to you lot....Thanks
