Had a revelation today whilst in a lecture here in NL. Were studying music from the Middle Ages and discussing the phenomenon of Fauxbordon. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fauxbourdon thefreedictionary/Fauxbourdon Whilst trying to keep my notes as Cornish as possible, I realised that while writing the word faborden, that it must be from this musical practice that we get our word for bass! Probably not as amazing for everybody else, but I was quite amazed when I put the two together!
