Had a thought. Lets say, for the sake of argument, that the fossileers fade away, leaving sustainables like solar, wind and geothermal. The fight will be far from over. Consider, for instance the massive Aussie solar plant that boils water, or the cable Google contemplates laying offshore for big wind farms. Compare them to small scale home and business photovoltaics, geothermals, little windmills, either entirely off a grid, or feeding excess into a grid. The former still allows central utilities to control energy, bill for it. The latter eliminates that entirely. Id bet that as solar continues to fall in price, attempts to legislate against small scale solar will accelerate, even if alternative energy succeeds in replacing fossil fuels entirely. The war against those who crave power is never won. Battles, though, are, occasionally. Eternal vigilance. Solidarity forever.
