Had a workshop this morning on community leases - thats both land and or buildings. HCC currently has 104 leases with all sorts of community groups. Some are for land only, some for land and buildings and some just for buildings. As you can imagine they are all very different and have quite different community purposes and deliveries. We are trying to create consistency, transparency and some fairness across this area. Staff have come up with some options to address these issues (after some initial input from stakeholders). Council has narrowed the choice down to 2. Stakeholders will now have another chance to have input into this draft so that in September we can have a final community leasing policy. The emphasis is NOT on gathering more revenue from groups but on providing as I mentioned above some consistency, transparency and fairness. Follow me on Twitter: @margforsythHCC
