Had an amazing talk with a customer. She asked to pray for me which I thought to be the sweetest thing, and in turn I told her I would chant for her too. We started having a dialogue about my practice as a Nichiren Buddhist and about what a fortune baby was (being born into the practice) and we were able to open up are individual preferences with the knowledge that Christianity and Nichiren Buddhism has a lot of things in common, and she was so open and happy. It was wonderful to have such a conversation based on differences and the beauty that we are all designed to be individuals of value creation. I love conversations with unique people and different perspectives and opinions. It feels my heart with joy, that we all have a purpose and mission for the well being of people through are own lifestyles and depth in philosophy and religion. It makes me appreciate the differences when people respect my lifestyle equally. Regardless, it was an experience I hope to have again and again. I will continue to share the beauty of my practice/actual proof/ of this Buddhism and my life effected with in and through my self and the environment. Days like this make me hopeful, so hopeful in the present and future realizing we are all value creating beings with the gift of diversity. Diversity is the key and respecting that diversity amongst us, takes time, but its capable to be shown through each individual when looking through the eyes of compassion and wisdom. What a benefit today! I am so fortunate!
