Had an awesome time on the road today. Knockin on doors and shakin them hands......before I left today I posted about County Judge Joe L. Asher stating in a fiscal court meeting that county money was being used to put in water lines in big creek. This was a lie. County money is not being used. The county is applying for grants to install water lines. Once the lines are installed Manchester City or North Manchester Water takes over the line. The county does nothing else. They do not receive payment for water services and they do not receive payment for equipment or manpower. Its not a bad thing that the county is helping people get access to city water. The reason the county is having to do this is where the bad comes in. The city is so broke that it cannot get these grants anymore. Also, these grants typically only serve one person or one home at a time. It can take weeks to apply and even longer to get the money and the services. Water lines are being provided to people who will vote for Joe in November. Everybody else gets NOTHING. If anybody in this county during the last 20 years had the ability to look down the road and see how things would turn out then it might have made more sense to create another water company instead of leaving things in the hands of Manchester alone. Right now, Manchester city water and North Manchester Water Association do not have the water supply, the money, the manpower, or the resources to provide water to everybody in the county. They cant get the customers they have to pay their bills on time, so why would they go 20 or 30 miles from their offices and install more water lines? 20 years ago, if I was a man in a position of power in this county I would have began work on water reserves in Oneida and Big Creek. This would take the water monopoly away from the city of Manchester, create jobs, and lower everyones water bills through competitive pricing. I have had engineers working almost non-stop for the last 6 months, mapping out locations and creating diagrams for future water reserve sights. Instead of asking for a grant to put in one water line on 421 for Joes aunt and uncle, I would be asking for a grant to build a pump station in Big Creek that would provide jobs and water to every resident in the area. I will be doing the same in Oneida. In 4 years time, Oneida and Big Creek will have just as much local commerce as Manchester. You can look with your own eyes today and realize thats not gonna be hard to do. Manchester has nothing, so they havent set the bar very high. This county has not set the bar very high. That is why nobody can really argue against me. BECAUSE THERE IS NOT ONE EXAMPLE OF THINGS GETTING BETTER..........anywhere. Im posting this to clarify what I meant when I said that Joe was lying about county money being used for water lines. He was lying. Federal grant money is being used to provide water lines. So when Joe said he couldnt put an internet park on chop bottom because the county was using that money for water lines, that was a lie. $2,000 was the estimated cost of a concrete base and shed on Chop Bottom. Wi-Fi access could have been provided FREE OF CHARGE. Immediately after telling me the county had no money for this project, Joe turned around and introduced his plan to build a smokers gazebo in town. Total cost over $3,000 for a used, rebuilt gazebo purchased from a family member of Joes. $3,000 to make sure the judge and his secretarys dont get their heads wet when they sneak out to smoke. ONCE AGAIN, NO MONEY FOR YOUR KIDS.
