Had an excellent time on the Appalachian Trail. We covered the notorious Roller Coaster section. Ive covered that section a couple of years ago, and SWORE by all that is sacred that Id NEVER EVER do it again. I said if I ever go the notion do trail thru, then Ill hitch a ride from Bears Den to Harpers Ferry. And EVERY time I say something like that, I curse myself into doing yet again that which I swore Id never do. So, I aint gonna say Ill NEVER EVER do the AT Roller Coaster again. I gotta hand to my 14-year-old son. It was hell for him, but he steeled himself and made it through (as if he had a choice). It almost killed my son-in-law. As for me, I feel like Ive been through a meat grinder. While on the trail, I told my son and son-in-law, I think Im doing pretty darn good for a 76-year-old man. Too bad Im 52. Humor will get through something like that. By the way, Gatorade is like a drinkable miracle. I think Ill use it for Communion wine. (Can I go to hell for saying that?) As for the Roller Coaster, I SWEAR Ill NEVER. . .OOPS! Almost cursed myself again.
