Had an extraordinary time at lunch yesterday with Special Forces folks and their military legal council (Someone more folks should bring when eating lunch with me) from Ft. Campbell, charting out plans to create a series of talks on the Civil War. A year or so ago, a portion of them had great tour of the military history of the Battle of Franklin, but now they want to bring a larger group down to better understand the bigger picture -- beyond the military history as to the aftermath and effects of the Civil War on world history. As their mission is pretty much the world, they want their leadership to be able to make that connection with history. Pretty sweet for me as this is the focus of so much of my interest. Maybe Michael Moore might want to sit in to help him understand a bigger picture.
