Had an insane bike ride yesterday .....Pune-Kolhapur-Belgaum-Hubli-Ankola-Karwar-Panaji ....685 kms, 9 hours ride time, max speed 208, excruciating is a mild word to express the pain the body n mind endures to do this .... superb mix weather of early morning chill, mild sunlight, cool breeze, spells of heavy rain. the roads were just awesome...potholes laden roads in maharastra (due to rains i guess), followed by carpet like Karnataka roads (as if they didnt have enough rains)...but the icing on the cake was the ride from hubli to karwar, 180 kms of never ending winding roads, dense jungles, very light traffic, the aprilia with its 135hp on sports mode and yours truly, were in a perfect zone.... clipping away at a brisk speed, not giving way to any thoughts or signals the boy-mind gave to stop,wait or even rest ........ 6.30 departure pune , 4.30 pm I am in the suite @ marriott .. a well deserved rest ...hot bath, late lunch followed by a few beers amidst some cool music @ bar ! perfect thursday it is ...! Now hoping for a typical GOA weekend @ north goa..... more on that later. !!
