Had an interesting incident this morning on my commute to work. I - TopicsExpress

Had an interesting incident this morning on my commute to work. I bike 15 miles one way (3-4 times a week) using mostly 80% Bike Route designated (Map below). At the intersection of Wilcrest and Memorial a woman in an SUV skidded to a STOP (I was Stopped at a Red STOP Light) and hit my back tire popping it, but damaging the rim or anything. I got off my bike and threw my hands up at her. She put down her phone that she was texting on and started yelling at me. (Notice the gravel in the road gutter, 50% of the bike lanes I see are like that). I politely asked her to row her window down and pull over so I can access my bike and calmly talk to her. She rolled it down a crack and started yelling at me more saying she has a gun and to get the hell out of her face. She sped off threw the RED Light and no one else there stopped to see if I was okay. Notice something weird about her License Plate, the black paint is scraped off. This was captured with my FLY6 (love this camera) on the back of the bike. When she sped off, my go-pro (mounted on the front) got her rear license plate which was normal. Has anybody else seen these GHOSTED plates or know why people file off the black? Is it to escape detection from Police, Light Cameras, etc? Well, I told my neighbors who are HPD and bike enthusiasts too about it and he said he will take the video and give it to their Accident Division for an arrest warrant of Failure to Stop and Render Aid (Felony),running a Red Light (Citation), and maybe something more due to the plates being Ghosted. Will let you know how this comes out. By way, I wear a bright Highlighter yellow helmet and backpack cover, so she cant say she did not see me. Also, I too am a CHL holder, glad it was not needed if she started shooting. Stay safe out there and continue to check your 6 when you are stopped.
