Had another play at creating a 3D model from the 20 or so photos, this time at a higher resolution using my server, which rendered the model in 20 minutes rather than the 8 hours the laptop would have taken. Here the original photos were added to create a more lifelike texture. I left the location of the photographs in so you could see where I was walking to take the photos. Empty areas are where the photos could not see as occluded by cliffs or the slip itself. What use is this? Well, several models could be produced from a full coverage set of photos over a couple of weeks, this would show areas where the slip is still active and allow for planning to accommodate for potential erosion in the future.
