Had breakfast with my wife, Sumathi Namasivayam this morning in Abiramis, near FAM Kelana Jaya. For starters, we shared a packed nasi lemak (RM2.00), Sumathi had a poori, I had a rava dosa, and I finished it off with an idli, just to clear the banana leaf of the excess chutneys and saambaar. Nasi lemak was tasty, fresh, sambal was thick and plenty, the sides of fried ikan bilis and peanuts were also fresh and edible, unlike most other places. The saambaar and two types of chutneys were tasty, but a bit runny for my liking. We were there by about 7:30, so were the first few customers. Place was clean and waiters were pleasant, even though they looked like they hadnt finished their morning ablutions and hence not fully awake. And surprisingly, the water from the taps were almost hot, dont know why though. We had a coffee and a milo. Total, RM 10.00. Very satisfying breakfast indeed. Wonder how their lunch would be like. I walked out a happy man, something of a novelty for me after a meal in most Indian restaurants. My wife would agree with most of what I have said, I think. Hope I have spelt saambaar properly.
