Had my follow up with the GI Dr. today and every thing went well! He said he didnt see an ulcer when he looked, but there was a nodule on my esophagus that had moderate inflammation. He said if there was inflammation/ulcer in my stomach beforehand it could have healed up before my appt seeing I was on meds for it for over 6 weeks, but that the esophagus is the last place for inflammation to heal up, which lead him to believe I did have some at one point in time. He wants me to continue to stay on my Prilosec indefinitely, since it seems to be helping, and after a few months we will check back and see how Im feeling and see if I am ready to wean off of it. He thinks its simply stress induced inflammation. He thinks that I tend to produce more acid in my stomach especially if Im a more stressed/worrisome person, which I am, ha. I am SO very thankful this isnt anything serious and that everything with my blood work that he tested came great as well. 🙏
