Had one of the most horrifying experiences last night that a mother can have. We went to dinner at a Mexican restaurant in town with my son and his wife. Suddenly his wife ( who is a doctor) jumped from her chair and started doing the heimlich maneuver on my son. His eyes staring forward with no expression on his face as he turned purple and became limp. his body covered with sweat. She ,being small in stature, tried and tried frantically to dislodge the pepper that was stuck in his throat. Everyone in the restaurant was on their feet ,some praying.... My husband ran over to my son Michael and repeatedly did the maneuver suddenly he started breathing,, , one of the people who had been praying asked him if he needed a drink of water and he replyed No i have my beer here haha Michael was back :) The importance of knowing Heimlich cannot be understated and this is yet another reminder.....
