Had our first Things were so much harder when I was young - TopicsExpress

Had our first Things were so much harder when I was young conversation. Leela was calling out all the potholes in our street, and asking whether we could fix them. Which lead to me telling her that when I was her age and lived in Kenya, we mostly were driving on unpaved roads (made of packed red mud), once we got out of Nairobi. Sometimes the roads were washed out and we had to take a Land Rover to get anywhere, and if you got stuck you were out of luck because there was no AAA and no cell phones. I was waxing nostalgic remembering my Dad driving on Thika Road towards Ruaraka in massive tropical rainstorms, with huge puddles everywhere. And then L rolled her eyes and fell asleep.
