Had some comments from family members today asking when I would - TopicsExpress

Had some comments from family members today asking when I would run as an independent, seriously I would if I thought I could make a difference. If we think that by paying the ESL helps improve the MFS, SAPOL and SA Ambulance Service, I consider these as ESSENTIAL services, something our normal taxes should contribute to anyway. Emergency services are the CFS, SES, SA Surflasiving etc. These organisations that are predominately staffed by volunteers in the event of emergencies that will occur from time to time. So Jay, Tom and their cronies from the SA Govt are blaming Tony, Joe and his cronies from the Federal Govt for a shortfall in funding to education and health for the abolition of the state subsidy for the ESL, (you mean we should have been more a long time ago!). Lets get one thing straight, Gillard promised a substantial increase to funding for education and health from federal coffers that had been un-costed, in an attempt to hold onto power. The new Abbott government has since been left with no money to uphold this promise and cut the future funding increase but will uphold current funding levels, essentially no funding has been cut. I believe, (and I do stand corrected), that increases to these areas will be in line with CPI for 2015/16. So there is more spin coming from North Tce than the Indian cricket team in that they have unwisely produced a budget based on funds that they were promised to receive from a federal government who was clinging to power with false hope and no money. You do not have to be a Rhodes Scholar to work out what is implied here! I urge as many people to join this group and not pay this levy. With enough support I will stand on the steps of Parliament House and burn my Renenue SA notice for this unfair tax burden.
