Had the absolute pleasure of being invited to the National - TopicsExpress

Had the absolute pleasure of being invited to the National Memorial Arboretum yesterday for Armistice day. I laid a wreath on our newly dedicated memorial commemorating the 75th Anniversary of The Battle of the River Plate before joining other invitees at the Armed Forces Memorial. The rain stopped just in time for the service at which Prince Edward represented the Royal Family. Following the service Prince Edward took the salute at the march pass but not before a lone spitfire gave us a dazzling fly pass. At lunch I was tasked with introducing my table to Prince Edward where I was able to get a good plug in for Ajax and the Association. He was quite knowledgeable about the Battle and had visited the cemetery in Montevideo. All in all, a jolly good day
