Had the chance to watch the movie Old Boy this weekend. Before watching the movie I did not know it was a remake of a Korean movie. Usually I levitate towards cinema that deals with controversial material, I do not like predictable plots, phony characters, or useless dialogue, that fills 90% of motion pictures today. Spike Lees americanized version of Old Boy had great potential but felt very short. I propose a question to all my Facebook friends, what is the most disturbing movie you have ever watched? And in your opinion how far is Hollywood cinema allowed to push the envelope when dealing with controversial subjects?
