Had the honor today of presenting a $1,000 Children First Design your Own Success Grant to Caren Floyd and the Learning Academy for Life Success. The project funded meets with 20 McKinley students on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for 7 weeks to read and plant a vegetable garden together. Theyre currently reading Where the Red Fern Grows by William Rawls and growing carrots, beets, and turnips. A good example of community partners in education! #childrenfirst
