Had the most unbelievable and humbling afternoon surprising an Italian family friend Gulio Marino ... 40 years later! Close friends of Mum n Dad it was priceless when Gulio recognises me in my natural selfie state sans makeup bella bella Shelley!!! Well I teared up yes I know I look like Mum ... And then we reminisced over vino at his North Perth Smash Repairs shop with his son and staff! The most satisfying story is Gulio remembering Dad in 1976 when he organised the weekly family staples from his brothers market gardens including meat vegies milk n bread for the families who were housing the Olympic Swim team. Yes that was my Dad who as a respectable WA policeman called on the Italian community to support him and yes everything fell off the back of the truck... Gulio says Merv Taylor called and we helped him... So today Jenny Wetton Neil Brooks Tracey Wickham it was nice to return the favour and say thanks Champ! Of course we talked non stop bout the WA Italian -Taylor connection including Dorazios and Terranovas to name a few!
