Had to be there for a family I had become very close with during my shift in the ER today when the patient was told she had stage 4 lung cancer. Watched a middle age man practically die and be brought back to life in front of my very eyes. Explained to a 20 year old, who declined treatment because she stated she would rather die than deal with her disease anymore, that there is so much more life to live and she needs to fight. We all do... because tomorrow isnt promised to any of us. Treat a disease, you win you lose. Treat a person, I guarantee you, youll win no matter what Just 3 more reasons added to the thousands I already have why I cannot wait to graduate in May and become a registered nurse
